Just hated to deconstruct this rifle if there was someone else out there that wanted it as is for their collection. I could convert the MAK with the desert fox outfitters stock adapter, SLR handguard & gas tube, AK master mount rail, and thread the barrel. Also would prefer a side scope rail and LPVO for my older eyes. A rectangle slot in the receiver indicates that the rifle has a milled construction. It typically does not have a compensator either and comes with a smooth dust cover. For my personal use, I would really prefer a set up with an AR type stock, magpul grip, and MLOK handguard. The post ban Norinco MAK 90s have non threaded barrels, no bayonet lugs, and thumbhole stocks instead of pistol grip stocks. Took a deep dive into Youtube channels like AKOU and forums like this to learn more about all the different versions and types. ( WBP Polish Smooth Dust Cover - New Production ) If I'm able to sell the rifle, I will leave that to the new owner.Įven though I have owned the rifle for 30 years, I really did not become interested in the AK platform until recently. I had also seen some new production WBP Polish smooth dust covers on the Arms of America site for $30, but most of the reviewers said they required some fitting for their particular variant, including a MAK owner.
